The After School Club at Weald Rise Primary group studied ‘War Horse’ by Michael Morpurgo. They explored the main character, Joey. How he impacted the lives of others who came into contact with him and how he influenced the outcome of key events. The group chose to tell the story through a series of monologues as Joey at significant points in his life throughout the book. Each group member wrote their own monologue based on their inference of Joey’s thoughts, feelings and actions.
